One Body - One Mind - One Life - One Choice

Where its all about you!

Fitness is about improving endurance, flexibility and strength, through regular physical activity. Physical activity is a broad term that encompasses all forms of muscle movements. These movements can range from sports to lifestyle activities.

Furthermore, exercise can be defined as physical activity that is a planned, structured movement of the body designed to enhance physical fitness.

A Healthy Heart: Regular activity or "huffy puffy" exercise as I like to refer to it as, has a number of proven, positive health effects, especially on heart health. Cardiovascular exercise strengthens the heart as a pump, making it a larger, more efficient, muscular organ. The more efficient the heart is, the lower the resting heart rate becomes. Even moderate activity can boost HDL (good) cholesterol, aid the circulatory system, increase lung capacity and oxygen intake, as well as lower blood pressure and blood fats. All these effects translate into reduced risk for heart disease, heart attack, and stroke.

Working with Weights: The best way to lose fat is by strength training. Strength training increases the body's metabolic rate, causing the body to burn more calories throughout the day, even at sub-maximal work levels like rest. Exercise is a good way to build strong, healthy bones and can help slow the bone loss associated with getting older. The increase in lean muscle mass, strength, power and endurance is something everyone can benefit from. Being stronger means you can complete day to day tasks with much greater ease, feel confident about your body and improve your performance, whether it’s work or recreational. Other benefits include injury prevention, improved balance and flexibility, decreased risk of coronary disease, helps to aid rehabilitation and recovery, and last but certainly not least, aging gracefully and feeling and looking better.

Simple Stretching: Flexibility is often a goal in and of itself. Being able to take a joint through its full range of motion gives us more freedom of movement. Relaxing tight muscles feels good and balances the body. Stretching during and after exercise can help to relax and balance tension on muscles that have just been exercised, helping with increased blood circulation and oxygen delivery to the working muscles. It does not have to involve a huge time commitment, but stretching can end up giving you huge results! Here are just a few of the benefits you can expect from a regular stretching program. Reduced muscle tension, increased range of movement in the joints, enhanced muscular coordination, increased circulation of the blood to various parts of the body, increased energy levels (resulting from increased circulation)!

We are here to work one-on-one with you to develop, monitor, supervise and motivate you through your fitness training programs. Together we will determine and work towards your health and fitness goals by developing the best workout programs possible, specifically designed to your needs, goals and based on your lifestyle and enjoyment level.

Cardiovascular activity (Cardio refers to the Heart while Vascular refers to the Lungs) can involve any type of exercise that raises a person's heart rate and metabolism. Some of the more popular exercises include cycling, walking, running, stepping, rowing, boxing and general aerobic workouts.

However, any kind of activity or exercise will help to improve a person's fitness level and aid in a person's weight loss. For instance, performing household chores such as vacuuming and cleaning can also contribute towards raising a person's fitness level. Any type of exercise will help you to get fitter as long as you do it regularly and it does not have to involve activities that are exhausting to perform either. In fact, doing regular light or moderate cardiovascular activities is easier to maintain and can give better results since you are more likely to stick with it. The best place to start is with doing something you enjoy for around twenty to thirty minutes a day at least three to five times a week. Over time as your heart, lungs and body adapt to new stress levels being placed on them you will need to increase your cardiovascular workouts by challenging yourself with higher levels of intensity and duration.

Compound exercises which promote the use of multiple joints and muscles and are functional to movements used in everyday life are the strength training exercises we encourage and put to use in all our workout programs. These include exercises such as Squats, Lunges, Deadlifts, Bench Press, Lat Pull Downs, Seated Rows, Push Ups, Chin Ups and Dips. With our simple exercise progressions and overload methods, we are able to train anyone and everyone, regardless of experience level. Strength training helps you burn more calories, tone muscles and maintain a healthy weight. It can even improve your posture and will increase muscular strength and endurance.

We will educate you on and take you through a wonderful full-body stretching sequence that will leave you feeling great.

We encourage stretching at home, work and on your own free time (as often as possible). When training with us you can expect to be stretched throughout your workout with focus on the major prime mover muscle groups.

We also take you through a dynamic warm-up and static cool down, which is applied to relax your muscles, prevent injuries and help in the aid and recovery from exercise and the everyday stresses of life.

There is no time like the present. The longer you continue to procrastinate, the further out of reach your fitness goals become. Remember, it's never too late to become more active. Every little bit helps. It doesn't have to be strenuous to be healthy, either. Just start slowly and build gradually with us.

The time to begin is right now. You'll start to notice the difference right away, for both your body and your mind. Your goals are our goals. We are all goal seeking animals and life only has meaning if we are reaching out and striving towards these goals.
Your success is a heartbeat away and eighty percent of success is just showing up.
